WORK

He trained at the school of Filippo Palizzi and Domenico Morelli. He comes into contact with Vincenzo Gemito and Francesco Paolo Michetti. He soon broadens his knowledge to an international field working in Paris (he worked for the merchant Goupil) and in London where he probably had the most fruitful period. His absolutely personal painting of him, is not limited to a mere observation of the pictorial subject but, among the first ever, overwhelms the compositional elements of the canvas in vibrant and very happy chromatic mixtures with insertions of elements such as glass, gold, sequins, the latter elements aimed at the realization of a unique and incomparable material. An absolute innovator in the highly academic landscape of the time. Great protagonist of Italian painting between 1870 and 1910.
