After having completed literary studies in Milan, in 1919 he began to paint, influenced by the study of Egyptian and primitive art. In 1928, on the occasion of a visit to the Museum of Vailla Giulia, he came into contact with Etruscan art, which offered him the opportunity to merge myth and reality, in a timeless space. 1929 marks his European affirmation, with an exhibition at the J. Boucher Gallery in Paris.
