On the occasion of the 34th Florence International Biennale of Antiquities, Galleria Russo presents a selection of works by some of the leading figures of 20th-century Italian art, including Giacomo Balla, Giorgio de Chirico, Gino Severini, Tato, and Massimo Campigli.
Among the highlights of the exhibition, the theme of self-representation is explored through two important self-portraits: the first known self-portrait by Giacomo Balla, dating from 1894 and of exceptional historical significance, and Gino Severini’s Self-Portrait of 1916, an intense physiognomic study of the artist as a young man.
