Catalogue of the exhibition “Duilio Cambellotti at the Monza Biennals ad beyond”
Galleria Russo, which this year celebrates one hundred and twenty-five years since its founding in 1898, will host from March 16 an exhibition entirely dedicated to Duilio Cambellotti, a leading artist in the Italian artistic scene of the first half of the 20th century.
Cambellotti expressed himself in the field of applied arts by making furniture, ceramics and stained-glass windows; he was an illustrator, engraver, advertising graphic designer, sculptor and set designer: he set no limits to his forays into the field of art.
The exhibition, conceived on the occasion of the centenary of the first Monza Biennial of Decorative Arts (1923) and entitled Duilio Cambellotti at the Monza Biennials and Beyond. Gathering a form around a thought, is curated by Daniela Fonti and Francesco Tetro, scientific heads of the Archives.
The composed monographic path, from 1899 to 1939, allows to relocate and fully appreciate the multidisciplinary work of the multifaceted artist-artisan, often present in the biggest national and international exhibition events.
The retrospective is realized in collaboration with the Archives of the Work of Duilio Cambellotti.
